Deaf Events & Interpreter Events In Maryland
Sunday, January 29, 2012. Maryland Kids of Deaf Adults welcomes you to Are Teens of Deaf Adults Different from Hearing Teens? From 2 pm to 4 pm at Germantown Library, 19840 Century Blvd, Germantown, MD 20874. Audrey Frank, clinical social worker, will moderate a panel of six KODA Teens who will share their insights, perceptions, and experiences related to their identity. This workshop is a follow up from last year's session on this topic, and is geared towards parents, mental health professionals and school professions who wish to explore identity development, technology, educational, and cultural/linguistic needs of hearing children of deaf parents. Library resources will be on display. This program is coordinated by Maryland Kids of Deaf Adults in conjunction with the Germantown Library. This event is free.
