Clerc, Berthier and Brown) and what did they do?? How does their work affect us
today? What are the issues in our community that hold us back? ASL is a
language – how do we prove that? Who was William C. Stokoe and where does he fit
in? What makes a good ally? What are the challenges that Deaf people face with
hearing allies? How do we best understand and support each other? Interpreters
are not invisible. What we do makes a difference! How do our decisions and
behavior affect people? Jax will lead discussion and share from his unique Deaf
perspective and experience. We will walk through various scenarios together,
examining our choices. We will do mental exercises to improve our skills. How
do we join hands and make a difference in our community? Where: C.S.U.N.
